WHERE? The Brewery by Quinn's
WHEN? Sundays beginning June 22nd at 8:00.
WHAT'S HAPPENING?
-An opportunity to share your creation with other creatives.
-Read a portion of your story.
-Recite a poem or two.
-Show your art, drawing, sculpture.
–Talk about the lyrics for your song.
THINGS TO KNOW-FORMAT
-We all divide into groups of 5-8 to share
-Each person will have 8 to 10 minutes to share in the group
-You will have the allotted time to introduce and share your creation, whatever it may be. Do a reading or talk about your artistic creation.
-When there is more than one group, each group will vote by secret ballot for their favorite from the group.
-The person selected from each group will then have another 8 to 10 minutes to share with the whole group.
-If it proves popular, perhaps I can get some swag to award the presenters.
THINGS TO KNOW-PRESENTING
8-Respect the time frame. It is rude to go over your limit.
-You will have a minimum of 8 minutes, so work with that time frame.
-Be prepared. Practice. A good reading or presenting speed is about 150 words per minute.
-Introduce your subject and then do your reading or talk more about your artistic creation.
-You can read more than one poem or talk about more than one piece of art, etc. as long as it is within your time frame.
-You don’t have to allow time at the end of your 8-10 minutes for feedback and questions.
-If your reading part of a story or poem, then try to be expresive.
-Be enthusiastic and encourage. That doesn’t mean you should offer false praise.
